The Nigerian entertainment industry has been thrown into a mourning mood following the saddening demise of reality TV star, Rico Swavey, who passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022.
Following his death, celebrities and fans have taken to social media to mourn him.
Here is what we know about the late reality TV star, Rico Swavey, who died in his prime.
1. His real name is Patrick Fakoya. He was a contestant in the Big Brother Naija season 3 “Double Wahala” edition, which premiered in 2018. According to Wikipedia, he was 25 years old at the time of his participation in the live show.
2. Rico Swavey rose to the limelight in 2018 after he was unveiled as one of the contestants in the Big Brother Naija season 3 Double Wahala edition. The prize to be won in this edition was N45 million.
3. Rico Swavey is a Nigerian movie actor, lawyer, artiste and reality TV personality who was born into the beautiful family of Mr. and Mrs. Fakoya.
4. The 30-year old reality TV star who died in his prime attended and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the prestigious Babcock University .
5. After the reality TV show, he ventured into the Nigerian movie industry, otherwise known as Nollywood, and became well-known for his lead role in the “Life 101” drama series.
6 . Two years ago, he released a song titled “Afrosantana” and had been doing well for himself in the entertainment industry before his death.
7. He was involved in a motor accident on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. His management broke the news on his verified Twitter handle as they called on the public to pray for him.
8. Sadly, he passed away on October 13, 2022, hours after he had an accident and was placed on life support.
