65-year-old granny defies nature, gives birth to quadruplets (photos)

This is the remarkable story of a woman who gave birth to quadruplets at the age of 65, despite already being a mother to 13 other children.

Annegret Raunigk made a historical moment back in 2015 when she amazingly gave birth to quadruplets at the age of 65 years.

Despite having a few complications during the initial months after the birth, all the babies and the mother had exited the hospital fully recovered and healthy as ever.

Earlier, the doctors had worried about the health and life of the premature babies because they had been born underweight and had to be kept in incubators during the first week of their birth.

They had also predicted possible lifelong health issues for the babies, even if they did survive the initial years after the birth.

But at the time of Raunigk’s exit from the hospital, the authorities had affirmed that the babies had developed unexpectedly well and healthily in a rather short span of time.

The mother had then returned home to her 10-year-old daughter, Leila, who was overjoyed by her newborn siblings. Raunigk was now a mother of 17 children, the oldest one being 46 years of age.

“I like children – they keep me young … You get more tolerant the older you get.”

Many had termed her desire to get pregnant at the age of 65 as madness at that time. But the proud mother had explained that it was not about “egotism or selfishness.”

To get pregnant, Raunigk had travelled as far as Kiev, Ukraine, where she used a donated egg and donated seed to inseminate herself. It was a process that had been illegalized in her home country, Germany.

Speaking further about her historical pregnancy, she had stated that it was her daughter Leila who had planted the idea in her. Leila had apparently said: “I want a brother or sister!”

So it was another surprise for little Leila when her mother gave birth to four siblings for her to play with.
